Playfair Music Bandcamp

Playfair Music Band Camp is held every Summer during the month of July at the A.W. Campbell Conservation Park in Alvinston, ON. The students stay in the park for a week-long, overnight adventure, where music and the outdoors is combined to create one big, exciting, and educational experience full of fun!  They will have the opportunity to meet some local, professional  musicians who are brought in for workshops throughout the week, and will also take a trip to visit a radio station. In the past we have visited The Eagle Radio Station out of Kettle Point, and with the Playfair Music Stream up and running, it will now be feasible to bring the campers to the Playfair Music Complex for a similar experience.

No musical experience is required to be a part of the Playfair Music Band Camp, and we encourage those who do have the experience to try new things, such as learning to play an instrument they have never played before. As part of the educational side of the program, students are put in charge of organizing their own concert for the end of week, which includes forming a band, rehearsing with that band, writing an original song, promoting their event with flyers that they post around the campground, and finally, performing for the parents on the last day of the camp, in order to give them a little taste of what it’s like to be a part of the music industry. There is also a Free BBQ for parents and students after the concert.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining our Playfair Music Band Camp, please feel free to contact Steve Dumont for registration details at 519-330-2651 or .

We also now have the option to sponsor a camper!!! If you are interested in making a donation, proceeds will go towards the cost of enrollment in the program, as well as the cost of new instruments.  Help send a kid to camp! For more information, contact Steve Dumont!
